Marillac Renovation Project

Major renovations are underway at Marillac Residence in Mount Saint Vincent Wellesley. Marillac is home for 43 Sisters of Charity-Halifax and 19 residents who are members of other congregations — Marist Missionary, Religious of Jesus and Mary, and Religious of Christian Education Sisters.

Larger bedrooms with private bathrooms, brighter hallways and common rooms, and easier access to services are all part of the project. Safety, health and wellness are the priorities, along with accessibility. For instance, changes in the chapel have meant that Sisters can participate more easily in liturgy and celebrations. An on-site medical clinic and private spa tub room will mean more accessible health services.

Infrastructure components include plumbing and electrical systems, a new roof and the installation of air conditioning throughout the building. This is the first major revitalization since the building opened in 1967.

This video will give you a glimpse into the lives of a few residents and what the Marillac Project will mean to them.

To help defray the costs of the Marillac Project, the Congregation has launched a capital campaign.
