Sister Florence James Kline

Kline, Florence James (87) died at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS on May 11, 2012. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late James S. Kline and Florence Edna (Ruggles) Kline. She entered the Sisters of Charity, Halifax in 1944 and made her Religious Profession in 1946. Sister taught school for eleven years in Halifax and for ten years served as a Medical Record Librarian/Director of Schools for Medical Librarians at the Halifax Infirmary.  In 1967, she commenced her role as the Executive Director of  Immaculata Hospital, Westlock, Alberta. During her twenty-six years of service in Westlock, she was a contributing member of the Catholic Health Association of Alberta and served on the CHAA Board of Directors from 1973-1977. When she returned to Halifax in 1996, she served as the Recording Secretary to the Sisters of Charity Leadership Team for six years. She was predeceased by her brothers, Russell and Douglas. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The wake will be at Caritas Residence, visitation Monday, May 14 from  3-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Chapel, Caritas Residence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS.

    Such a long-suffering, loving and competent servant. The people in Westlock still speak of Florence James with such fondness and gratitude! We were blest to have her in our midst out here in the West for many years. Bernice
