Conlon, Sister Mary, 91, died at QEII Health Sciences Centre, May 30, 2012. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Charles Conlon and Florence (O’Regan) Conlon. She entered the Sisters of Charity – Halifax in 1942 and made her Religious Profession in 1945. Sister was well educated receiving her BA, BEd, MA(Home Ec.) and MA(English). Sister Mary was an educator for 40 years, serving in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Massachusetts and New York. Her retirement embraced volunteering with seniors and providing ministry at St. Anthony’s Parish. She also assisted at the Cancer Clinic and worked with AIDS patients. She was predeceased by her sister Eileen (Joseph) White and brothers, Edward, John and infant, Paul Joseph. She is survived by her sister, Sister Jacinta Conlon, MMS, (Florence), Philadelphia; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends. The body will be in Caritas Residence, with visitation Monday, June 4, from 3-7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 5, at 10 a.m., Immaculate Conception Chapel, Caritas Residence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the ministries of the Sisters of Charity.

AWAY IN THE MORNING OF MAY 30, 2012. I MET MARY DURING OUR YEARS AT MSVC. SHE WAS AN ACTIVE, SPIRITED, ENERGETIC STUDENT. THAT APPEALED TO ME, SO, WE BECAME FRIENDS IMMEDIATELY. WE FOUND OUT THAT WE HAD THE SAME PERSON IN MIND
AS WE TALKED OUT OUR AIMES AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE FUTURE. AND THAT WAS NONE OTHER THAN FRANCES CARMEL,SC.
