McNeil, Sister Mary Miles (Mary Priscilla) (96) died July 3, 2011, in Seton Way, Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS. Born in New Waterford, NS, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (McNeil). She entered the Sisters of Charity in Halifax in 1933 and made her Religious Profession in 1936. She taught school for 43 years in Glace Bay, Ketch Harbor, Bedford, New Waterford, North Sydney and Reserve, as well as Riverton, NJ, and Hamilton, Bermuda. On retiring, using her skills as a Reading Specialist, she continued working with children as a volunteer. She returned to the Motherhouse in 1995. She is survived by a brother, Malcolm (Lorna) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers John and Angus. The wake will be in Caritas Residence, visitation Tuesday, July 5 from 3-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Chapel, Caritas Residence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS.
