Sisters of Charity-Halifax, friends and supporters celebrated the Congregation’s 125th Anniversary in the Archdiocese of Boston at The Lantana in Randolph, MA, on April 12.
Entertainment was provided by the Archdiocese Black Catholic Choir, of which Pierre Monette, this year’s Elizabeth Ann Seton honoree, is a member. Berklee College of Music student, Amon Robinson, also performed.
Pierre attended St. Kevin School, Dorchester; Boston College High School; Boston College and New England School of Law. A mentor to many youths and young adults, Pierre has been awarded the St. Ignatius of Loyola Award from Boston College High School for being “a man for others,” and the Bishop James Augustine Healy Award from the Archdiocesan Office for Black Catholics.
Honorary Chairperson for the event was Mary Joyce Morris, who was educated by the Sisters of Charity at St. Margaret’s School, Dorchester and Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School.
Dan Rea, TV journalist and the host of Nightside on WBZ NewsRadio, served as Master of Ceremonies.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Congregation’s ministries, healthcare and retirement needs.
